If you haven’t had a chance to check out the Crysis demo yet, be sure to try it. If nothing else, it’ll make you laugh about how out-of-date your new computer is.
Seriously, the most powerful video cards out there — ones costing north of $500 — can only run this game at the highest quality reasonably at 1024×768 with any level of AA? These Crytek guys are really thinking ahead.
I was going to pick up Crysis on the first day, but now I think I’ll wait until the next generation of video cards comes out. Whatever mid-range card is released in the summer 2008 timeframe might allow me play it at 1680×1050. I’ll be spending my hard-earned gaming dollars on Mass Effect this month instead.
